There are always new and exciting advancements in the medical industry. There’s a new drug for this or a new drug for that. Or there’s a vaccine for that and a cure for this. It’s amazing. And it’s a relief. And it’s life saving. But sometimes we need to take a step back and remember that we’ve been dealing with many medical issues and health problems since the beginning of time. And while the technological and medical advancements are fabulous and wonderful in most instances, in some they are simply redundant and unnecessarily complicating matters.

But it came with it’s own long and potentially serious list of side effects: joint swelling, joint pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, an increased risk of diabetes, extended belly, hypoglycemia, acromegaly, etc. It would seem that this wasn’t an adequate treatment option due to the range of side effects, but it is still currently in use.
